Facebook Adds 'Save' Feature That Lets You Save Stuff To Read Or Watch Later
Facebook keeps on growing bigger and better day by day, this demands keeping up with new and innovative features to accommodate all this. This new "save for later" feature happens to be one of the best innovative features Facebook has come up with.
This functionality is available for web users, iOS and Android users and this is a huge step for Facebook in the competitive social networking market. According to the official announcement, the function will vary differently depending on the content being saved. For external links posted on the newsfeed, there will be a save button accessible through a drop-down menu on the upper right. For the internal Facebook pages such as events, movies, music and companies, there will be a prominent feature just next to the "Like" button.
The location for the saved articles will be seen on the sidebar to the left labeled "More Apps" just next to "Nearby friends" and other features that you probably don't use often. Items on the menu are often shifted and hidden as well so accessing your saved items may be a bit of a trek. To tackle this problem, Facebook will put "reminders" of the saved items into the user's timeline.
However, this feature should not be confused with the one used in sites such as Pocket or Evernote that save offline data. The "Save for later" button will be used as a bookmark per say since you will need to be logged in to access the content you have saved.
So, next time you are scrolling down your timeline and happen to see a great link to a video and you don't have time to view it, simply use the new and innovative "Save for Later" button and voila, you won't miss a thing.
