New Faith-Based Film "SELFIE DAD" is the Perfect Father's Day Movie
SELFIE DAD is a Father's Day-timed inspirational family film, originally planned to be in movie theaters, is now available on premium Video on Demand. The movie is a light-hearted family film about one dad shaking off a mid-life crisis and reconnecting with his family . . . with his Bible in one hand and his phone in the other.
The film stars nationally known Christian comedian Michael Jr., who for two decades has performed over a hundred dates a year for tens of thousands of people. The film features top-selling female Christian comedian Chonda Pierce along with James Denton, Jamie Grace and Karen Abercrombie (WAR ROOM).
"What better time than Father's Day for your whole family to enjoy a fun and uplifting story of a dad disconnecting and reconnecting with his family . . . because he reconnected with what matters most," Michael Jr. said.
Meet Ben Marcus, a husband and father who finds himself caught in the throes of a mid-life crisis. Ben has a lot to be thankful for, but despite everything he has achieved, he simply isn't happy. He decides that the best way to fill the hole in his life is to fulfill his long set aside dream of becoming a comedian. And what better way to jump start his comedic career than with a YouTube channel?
Much to his surprise (and his daughter's embarrassment), a video of Ben goes viral! Just like that, his new career as "Selfie Dad" takes off, and before Ben knows it, he's a social media phenomenon!
So why is he still unhappy?
Meet Mickey, a brash IT guy who's studying to be a pastor. He knows exactly what's really missing from Ben's life. Will Ben be open to hearing the Word, and we he allow his heart and life to be truly changed?
At its heart, the Selfie Dad movie is an inspiring story about the power of the Bible told through humor and compassion. Traditionally, faith based films with a strong message are dramas; however, Selfie Dad aims to bring healing and understanding through laughter. After all, a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, right?
The Selfie Dad movie employs the comedic powers of seven world-class professionals to deliver intelligent humor from the opening shot until the credits roll!
SELFIE DAD is produced by Kappa Studios and distributed by GVN Releasing. The film retails for $19.99 on the various premium VOD platforms.Written and directed by Brad Silverman, SELFIE DAD is from Executive Producer Geno Taylor, Producer Paul L. Long and Co-Producer Patrick G. Ingram.
