Point of Grace Celebrates 20 Years of ‘A Christmas Story’ with Tour
Commemorating the 20th anniversary of their iconic holiday recording, A Christmas Story, Christian music vocal group Point of Grace will perform the album's entire track listing in sequence during a nationwide the A Christmas Story Tour multi-city tour this December.
Anchored by the trio's trademark vocal harmonies, the inspiring concert evening will offer a rare start-to-finish experience-including all of A Christmas Story's vocal and instrumental interludes and motifs-guiding audiences along a spirit-filled holiday music journey. "It's so exciting for us to put this program together," says group member Denise Jones. "It will be one of those rare times that concert goers will experience a full album brought to life 'live.'"
Recorded with the London Session Orchestra at the renowned Abbey Road Studios-an experience Jones recalls as simply "awe-inspiring"-A Christmas Story displays sweeping orchestrations accompanying Point of Grace's soaring vocal stylings on such traditional carols as "O Holy Night" and "Angels We Have Heard On High" alongside now-classics like "When Love Came Down" and "Light of the World," originally recorded as a duet with Newsboys lead singer Michael Tait. Topping the charts during its 1999 release, the trio's landmark Christmas recording has now sold over one million units, earning its place as one of gospel music's bestselling and most treasured Christmas recordings.
Point of Grace's holiday tours are an annual staple among Christmas concertgoers, consistently selling out venues across the country. The group also spent several Christmas seasons touring seasonal spectaculars with highly cherished yuletide artists Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant.
The 20th Anniversary A Christmas Story Tour will also feature Dove Award-winning singer-songwriter Aaron Shust and Curb recording artist Mallary Hope.
