'Dracula Untold' Movie Starring Luke Evans (Fast & Furious 6, The Hobbit) 2014 Release Date, Cast News, Watch Trailer (VIDEO)

The upcoming American drama-horror film Dracula Untold is set to released on October 17th, 2014 from Universal Pictures. They have released their new trailer for the film, which you can check out above. 

Dracula Untold stars Luke Evans (Fast & Furious 6, The Hobbit) and is about the origin story of the man who became dracula. It will co-star Sarah Gadon, Dominic Cooper, and Diarmaid Murtagh. 

The movie is directed by Gary Shore and written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless and is based on the novel Dracula by Irish novelist Bram Stoker. Bram Stoker wrote his famous vampire book "Dracula" in 1897, possibly basing it on 15th-century Romanian prince Vlad Dracul III, known as Vlad Tepes and the Impaler.

Dracula Untold is set in the 1400s, recounts the story of a young prince who would give up everything for his family. He resorts to dark powers to become among the first of the vampires. Vlad Tepes III, was supposedly born in 1431 in a mountainous area of Transylvania, Romania, as the son of Vlad II. This was during the Muslim invasion of the Christian regions of Europe, and Vlad II received the name "Dracul," which means "dragon," after he was inducted into a Christian military organization called the Order of the Dragon, which had the Holy Roman Emperor's support. Thus, Vlad III was called "Dracula," or "little dragon." And the legend goes on from there. 

Principal photography of the film began on August 5, 2013 in Northern Ireland. The film is expected to be a huge success as it was given a $100 million dollar budget.
