Here are the Lyrics to Darlene Zschech's "The Table"
Internationally acclaimed songwriter and worship leader Darlene Zschech has recently released The Table: A Christmas Worship Gathering, an all new Christmas album. The lead single is the album's title track.
"The concept of the table is very alive in me and I think it's alive in others across the earth because people are so hungry to belong," explains Zschech. "Throughout the Gospels, Jesus was always stopping for 'the one,' scooping people up along the way and saying, 'there's a place for you here'."
"So let's fling wide the doors of our churches and homes," she adds. "Whether that means inviting people who don't have family, students who are away from home, the stranger, the refugee... we have to get used to the harvest looking different and being different from what we might have imagined because as the song 'The Table,' says, 'Jesus eats with everyone'."
The Table: A Christmas Worship Gathering releases to Christian retail outlets and streaming platforms beginning Oct. 26 with the album available for pre-sale now at The Table along with the immediate download of the title track. Song and worship resources for the project are available at WeAreWorship.com. Zschech's book "The Golden Thread" (Thomas Nelson) releases Nov. 6. The Table
Lead Vocal: Darlene Zschech
No palace worthy of our King
Too many walls to keep Him in
But a mansion worthy of this Son
Was a stable that said 'welcome'
A journey on a starry night
The wisest ones followed the light
They gathered round the Holy One
Who was born to love and lead us home
CHORUS 1
Hark the herald angels sing
Hear the sound and enter in
There's a place reserved, just come
'Cause Jesus eats with everyone
A child who is the King of Kings
Who made a way of grace for sin
Our humble Savior gave it all
So we'd be seated with the Lord
CHORUS 2
Hear the whisper of His heart
The goodness of our saving God
It doesn't matter what we've done
'Cause Jesus eats with everyone
BRIDGE
We gather at the table
The table of the Lord
Come one, come all
Come as you are
We gather at the table
The table of the Lord
Just seek and you will find Him,
Come as you are
