Tori Harper Shares with Us the Hope Behind "Seasons"
Franklin, TN-based singer/songwriter Tori Harper releases amidst acclaim her debut EP, Seasons, today through The Fuel Music. Seasons features the title track and "My Father, My Shepard," both produced by Grammy Award-winning Seth Mosley (for KING & COUNTRY, Skillet) and Mike "X." O'Connor (Brandon Heath, Colton Dixon), and "Stand Firm," produced by Micah Kuiper (Hawk Nelson).
As a budding songwriter, Harper has co-written with Cindy Morgan, Mia Fieldes, Bryan and Katie Torwalt and All Sons & Daughters, among other artists, while further contributing background vocals to songs recorded by Chris Tomlin and Tenth Avenue North.
Ultimately, the type of artist Tori hopes to be is one who points her fellow sojourners to the truth of God's Word with every song.

Q: Tori, thanks so much for doing this interview. Let's start with yourself, tell us a little bit about yourself. How did God lead you to sing?
I always have had a love for music and singing, and when I was 11, I began to write songs! But it wasn't until a little bit later, I realized just how much a song can impact someone. When I realized that the music I write could change someone's life, that's when I knew that I wanted this to be more than a hobby.
Q: How would you describe your style of music?
I would definitely say my music is Contemporary Christian Music. But truthfully anywhere my music is touching people and changing lives is okay with me.
Q: Why did you entitle your new EP "Seasons"?
I believe that the songs on this EP reflect the different seasons of life that we walk through. I want people to understand that it doesn't matter what season you are in, He is always with you and you can always count on him.
Q: I believe you co-wrote all the songs on the record. When did you start writing songs?
I co-wrote "Stand Firm, My Father," "My Shepherd" and "Joy" with some of the most talented writers I know. "After Dark" and "Seasons" were written by myself. I started writing songs when I was 11 years old and haven't stopped!
Q: What inspires you to write? Do you have a routine you use for songwriting?
Whenever God reminds me of His unfailing character or I learn something new, I am inspired to write! For me there's no routines when it comes to songwriting, just one big creative mess!
Q: You have written with some great songwriters, who are some of them on this album?
On this EP some of the amazing people I've gotten to write with are Cindy Morgan, Seth Mosely, Riely Friesson, Micah Keiper and Colby Wedgeworth.
Q: Why are you excited about this record?
I feel like the Lord has given me a lot to share and I'm excited to hear people's stories of what spoke to them and what inspired them! The best part of releasing a song is the testimonies of how it helped someone else overcome!
Q: How will this record help or speak to other Christians and even non-believers?
There is an overall theme of hope and what I think people can take away from this is that there are many different seasons we walk through in life, but even if they don't look so great, it's only a season and we can trust that God will be standing right next to us through every single season. We are never alone!
