Calvin Bridges Returns to Chicago For Live Recording
International Gospel recording artist Calvin Bridges is set to invoke a Gospel Church Awakening returning to the Gospel Music capital of the world, Chicago, Illinois for his first live recording in ten years. The Stellar Award winning producer, songwriter and singer has penned some of the greatest "songs of the church" including So Much To Be Grateful For, Chosen, Spread the Word and his most celebrated composition I Can Go To God in Prayer (originally recorded by the Queen of Gospel Albertina Walker and covered by Ann Nesby, Ami Rushes, Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and others). Bridges' latest effort, So Easy To Love was released in 2013 and the video for the title track went viral amassing some 300,000 views to date.
Bridges reached another milestone celebrating two decades of carrying the Gospel across the ocean in 2016. Bridges exclaimed, "So hard to believe that it's been 20 years of ministry; 3 passports, thousands of miles, airports, dozens of songs, rehearsals, workshops, concerts, festivals... and GOD has said yes to every one, every year!! I am so grateful for His grace and love! What a Celebration this year has been for me!"
The recording takes place on Saturday, February 25th at Chicago's Greater Harvest Baptist Church. Bridges assembles some of Chicago's greatest singing aggregations to form a mass choir with guest appearances from The Turner Sisters, Tanya Ray, Ann Bridges, Dale Brown and others. Included among the new set of soon to be new classics is a medley of some of Bridges standards.
