Joey + Rory's Hymns Album is the Best Selling Christian Album of 2016

This week Joey + Rory's final album Hymns that Are Important to Us sits at #18 on Billboard 200 album chart.  To date, the Feeks' Hymns continues to rule as 2016's best-selling Christian or gospel album. It is also the Christian country music's best-selling album for the country duo.

The album of 10 newly recorded hymns has sold 275,000 through the week ending March 31, according to Nielsen Music. (It sold 21,000 copies in the latest tracking week.) Its new total brings it past Joey + Rory's previous best seller, their 2008 debut, The Life of a Song (255,000).

Hymns is 2016's sixth biggest selling album among all genres, and the second-biggest country set (behind just Chris Stapleton'sTraveller, with 415,000). Hymns is the only Christian or gospel album to sell more than 100,000 copies in 2016. (Lauren Daigle's How Can It Be is in second place among the year's biggest Christian/gospel sets, with 91,000 sold.) 

Joey Martin Feek, age 40, went home to meet her Savior Friday, March 4^th, 2016, around 2:30pm, in her native hometown of Alexandria, IN.  A current resident of Pottsville, TN, with her husband, Rory, Joey was surrounded by family and close friends at the time of her passing. 

Joey had been fighting Stage IV cancer for nine months, surrounded by the love and support of countless family members, friends, loved ones, longtime followers of her music and even strangers who were inspired by her life.  

Joey was known for her beautiful voice, beautiful smile and beautiful marriage partnership with Rory Feek.  Together they shared a life built around a love of faith, family, farming and country music.  Their stories, which ranged from growing vegetables to their blossoming as a country music duo, have impacted countless people through television, radio and performances.  While grateful for numerous accolades and countless career dreams that came true, Joey found the real meaning and joys of life to be one of love for her GOD, love for her home and family, love for planting and growing and love for sharing with everyone she knew.  Her roles as wife and mother are often heralded beyond her celebrity successes.
