August 2015 Most Anticipated Christian Music Releases
One of Christian music's most influential rock bands, Disciple has consistently been at the top of their game for 20 years. Boasting a die-hard fan base, their tribe is eager for any new products that Disciple delivers. Coming on August 7, the 'Best Of' includes a massive 18 tracks of the best 14 songs from 2005-2013 and 4 fan-voted favorites that are new acoustic recordings. This project is right on target!
Fans of Southern Gospel music and Broadway show tunes will love "The Inspiration of Broadway" recording by Ernie Haase and Signature Sound with featured vocalist J. Mark McVey coming on August 14. Showcasing their five-part harmony and lush symphonic arrangements, the CD features classics like "Climb Every Mountain" (The Sound of Music) and "You'll Never Walk Alone" (Carousel), as well as heart-lifting selections including "I Got The Sun In The Morning" (Annie Get Your Gun) and "Get Happy" (The Nine-Fifteen Revue).
The unforgettable "Bring Him Home" was also an important choice for The Inspiration of Broadway CD and DVD, since J. Mark McVey made his Broadway debut as Jean Valjean after having won the Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Actor while tour in Les Miserables. Highly identified with the iconic role, he was also the first American to perform the role in London's West End, reprise it in 2008 with the Los Angeles Philharmonic to sold-out crowds at the Hollywood Bowl, and bring it back again for the show's 25th Anniversary Tour in May, 2011, when he won the Ovation Award and the BroadwayWorld.com Award on his way to surpassing a stunning 3,268 performances in Les Miserables.
Tasha Cobbs returns on August 21st with her live album "One Place Live." Cobbs is one of the breakout stars of the Gospel music industry. Her #1 national debut, GRACE, remains at the top of Billboard's Gospel Albums chart two years after it was released and encompassed the #1 smash hit "Break Every Chain". That album netted Cobbs a Grammy Award, three Dove Awards and three Stellar Gospel Music Awards.
Recorded at Redemption Center Church in Greenville, South Carolina ONE PLACE LIVE, features the powerful, genuine praise and worship for which Cobbs is known. These three songs offer a sampling of the album's rich sound, with the Cobbs penned Jesus Saves positioned to be a Sunday morning staple for years to come.
"The recording theme and focus of this project are on the intimate place, the intimate time between JESUS and the worshipper. That is the atmosphere that was created during the recording, and it is what listeners will receive when they hear the album." Tasha Cobbs
Arriving on August 28 is multiple Dove Award winner, songwriter and artist Nichole Nordeman's "The Unmaking." This EP is her first studio project in more than 10 years. Known for penning songs such as "Holy," "Legacy" and "Brave," her new EP is full of songs written with the same passion and lyrical depth that made her past songs such a success.
