Darlene Zschech Reflects on Her Appearance at the Vatican & the Passing of Her Grandmother
Darlene Zschech, the former worship pastor of Hillsong Church and writer of worship favorites such as "Shout to the Lord," performed on stage as a headliner at the Vatican's Renewal of the Holy Spirit rally. One of the songs Zschech sang with pop classical crossover star Andrea Bocelli, worship music veteran Don Moen and Noa at the steps of the Vatican was the hymn "Amazing Grace"
On her Facebook page, Zschech breathlessly gushed "The prep has begun in Rome. I can feel the prayers. Honoured to be singing this week, with Andrea Bocelli, Don Moen (Praise & Worship Leader), Noa (Achinoam Nini) with Pope Francis and thousands of worshippers gathering in St. Peter's Square at the Vatican. This is a celebration of unity and peace in the Renewal of the Holy Spirit. Amazing days for the Body of Christ."
Just as Zschech was in the midst of such a ground breaking event, her grandmother passed away. Her grandmother's celebration service was held at Logan Uniting Church on 9th of July. Writing on twitter, Zschech recalls: "Today is the day my family & our friends gather to celebrate the life of our amazing Nan. So many memories.. Including teaching Nan to do a selfie!! She will be forever missed..."
With gratitude, Zschech continues: "Thankful for all family and friends that came today to celebrate the life of our beautiful Nam. And thanks to Logan Uniting Church for making it so special xx #blessed #family #thankfulforplanes."
