The Katinas Releases New Video "10,000 Reasons" (Watch Here)
Contemporary Christian Band the Katinas are set to release "Sunday Set" on November 25. The album will find them covering worship songs made popular by Hillsong Young and Free, Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, Hillsong Worship, Hillsong UNITED and many others.
They have just released a new video for the Grammy Award-winning song "10,000 Reasons," a song first recorded and co-written by Matt Redman. The video, featuring The Katinas' worship-filled arrangement of the Matt Redman song, can be viewed below.
"We are excited to share our arrangement and version of '10,000 Reasons,' a song that has been used to usher people into the presence of the Lord in worship communities around the globe," said James Katina.
Sunday Set is currently available for pre-sale at thekatinas.com.
The Katinas are a contemporary Christian music group. The family of five brothers hails from American Samoa, and moved to Washington state, after the death of their mother in 1988. The group's members sang in church as children, and began playing fairs, soon moving up to nationwide slots opening for R. Kelly, Jasmine Guy, DC Talk, and Amy Grant.
The group was signed to Gotee Records and have released several albums on the imprint, including a 2006 retrospective entitled Collection. Shortly after their 2006 "Collection" Release, their contract with Gotee expired. It was not renewed, and they are no longer signed to a label. Their album "Still" was independently released in August 2008. They recently performed at UCLA in 2009 from June 30 - July 2 for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and played in the Harvest Crusade of 2008, 2009, and 2013.
Following the devastation of the 2009 Samoa earthquake, the Katinas put on a benefit concert called "Hope for Samoa". It took place at the Fellowship Bible Church in Brentwood, Tennessee, just outside of Nashville, on October 7. They're still desperately trying to raise at least $60,000 for relief efforts. The closing date was November 10. They perform at Bayside of south Sacramento every once in a while, bringing in a minimum of 600 people in Sacramento City College.
They recently performed their song, "So Good," at the 2012 Republican National Convention.
