Taylor Swift Tour Dates Coming in 2015 Following Release of New Album '1989'
Taylor Swift was in New York City on Thursday morning (Oct 30) to perform for "Good Morning America".
The 24-year-old pop singer gave her fans waiting outside performances of three of her new songs: "Shake it Off," "Welcome to New York," and "Out of the Woods."
"I am gonna be going out on tour very soon! We're in the early stages of planning the actual show," Taylor said on the show. "I'm excited about announcing things when I can announce them, but it's going to be happening!"
"Good Morning America! Times Square! AHHHHHH," she captioned a picture of all her fans, which you can see above.
Taylor Swift's new album 1989 has only officially been released for a day and she is already on her way to one million record sales in her first week according to Billboard. She makes the first artist to sell over a million copies in 2014 and also becomes the first artist ever to pass one million first week record sales for three straight albums. Her previous two albums Speak Now (2010) and Red (2012) also passed the million mark in the first week.
Swift's first single "Shake It Off" immediately went to No.1 on the Billboard 100.
Taylor shared that the reason for the title was that it is her birth date (December 13, 1989) but also that she likes to have two years in between albums to see her growth in her Yahoo live interview with fans. She shared that her new album would be her first full on pop album and inspired from the music of the 80's that she has been listening to.
In an era of low record sales in the music business, Taylor shows that big things (and sales) are still possible if all of the stars align.
