Sony's PS4 Update: New Features Abound with Share Play, Customization, USB Music Player
The big names in the gaming console always reminds hard-core gamers of Microsoft and Sony. The rivalry between these two gaming console manufacturers continues with PlayStation 4 and Xbox One and Microsoft has been a step ahead of Sony with releasing software updates and engaging the users. However, Sony has decided to take a step forward with the big firmware update today. The firmware version 2.0 will be launching today from Sony platform for the PlayStation 4. Obviously, the new update will unlock many features. Let's give an eye on the update.
The most important and noticeable feature is the Share Play or game sharing option. This attractive new feature lets user to invite new friends to remotely observe or participate in your game. The feature does not require the purchased or downloaded version of the game. The membership will allow the participation process. The use the Share Play complete features PlayStation Plus is required. The other player of friend participation limit will be merged by the subscription service.
If you want the hand off control of a game only then the host might need to pay the subscription fees. Joining multiplayer option will need a Plus membership. Obviously, there will be time limit to enjoy the features. The Share Play allows gamers to play jointly with friends for an hour at a time. Play Station 4 software compatibility of version 2.0 allows to add YouTube as sharing path destination for saving the gameplay highlights. Regarding the video sharing facility an app is expected to be released today as dedicated YouTube in the PlayStation Store.
Sony has also emphasized on the customization freedom of the user. User can customize the home screen with personal taste covered by different colors and desired themes.
The USB Music Player app is the new addition. As the name says user will be able to listen music from any USB compatible sources that will work as a storage device. To remove the monotony and boredom while playing will disappear with customized favorite playlist. However, the video support compatibility has not been added.
