'Captain America: The Winter Soldier': A Spectacular Movie with Hard Punches and Light Fun
There is a moment in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" when Robert Redford, who plays the higher-up at SHIELD, an intelligence agency, said that to improve things you must need to tear down what came before regardless of its cost. This ties in to the larger themes of the film which is mostly about security, freedom and how individuals are often willing to make a sacrifice for one another, but also this brings to mind Marvel.
Since "The Avengers" of Joss Whedon broke some box-office records, the company made it to the point of switching things just to provide a fresh concept. "Iron Man 3" was a bit darker and the "Guardians of the Galaxy" is based on a comic adventure wherein the characters are new. Marvel has taken some risks and with the second installment of Captain America, it features the innocence of its original film with a tale of intrigue and conspiracy, which was the exact elements needed in the series.
Based on The Verge, in "Captain America: The Winter Soldier", the character of Chris Evans is still adjusting to his life in the 21st Century and packing his days with special missions and workout routines. He was also too busy to experience some things like dating. As Captain America, Rogers is always up to save the world, but despite his adventures, he became disillusioned with his work at the intelligence agency.
The second installment also makes good use of the supporting cast. Some of them are newcomer Falcon, Nick Fury, and Black Widow. Nick Fury and Black Widow are already fan-favorite entries yet the script in the film takes every character to a whole new level, which affords Jackson and Johansson ample screen time to comb the new layers in their roles, which deliver strong insights and downright heroism's rousing moments.
According to IGN, with the combination of effective character moments, humor, viscerally thrilling action and surprising heart, "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is one of the strongest entries of Marvel Studios. In fact, this film is also a game changer and a spectacular superhero movie that you must watch.
