Billy on the Street's News: Billy Eichner and the Burger King Fiasco
Billy Eichner is a frantic antic known for his own produced show, the widely popular Funny or Die's "Billy on the Street."
For those who aren't familiar with the show, "Billy on the Street" is an American comedy show being aired on Fuse TV. It already reached 3 full seasons and is currently preparing for the next instalment. Billy Eichner, the host, goes out on the New York streets throwing random questions about pop culture to innocent people. In his games, if the person gets the question right, he'll get a dollar or more.
Eichner was part of a segment in Emmy Awards 2014, and together with Seth Meyers, they conducted a very rowdy interview and contests on the streets. The very same thing that he is an expert on.
This person is exceptional. As CBS would describe him, "He shouts and yells. He's loud, he's funny. He's just plain over-the-top... And now, he's incensed -- over a Burger King commercial he says copied his shtick."
Just recently, the comedian Billy Eichner has accused Burger King of stealing his comedy act for the latter's new commercial. Examining the new TV commercial of the fast food chain seems like the comedian was right. Undeniably, there was a resemblance to his show. In the commercial, a man with a microphone throws a question to two teenagers asking (in a very exciting and yelling manner, of course, very much like how Billy does it) how much the price of the Burger King chicken nugget are.
Seeing this, Billy Eichner can't hide the disappointment. Hence he tweeted, "Hey Burger King, thanks for stealing my act for your new commercial!!! Except it's not as funny and everyone knows you stole it. GET YOUR OWN IDEAS."
Well, let's all hope that this fiasco would be over soon and if I were the guy who got robbed with an idea, I'll try to get even. I will milk this one and go after the Burger King, with the support that he's getting he'll definitely have the edge.
