'Agents of Shields' Season 2 News, Updates: Face My Enemy Recap, Melinda Was Dead Gorgeous and Ready for the South Beach Party
Coulson and Melinda May had an ample time together, though the not-so-romantic kind. Later on "Agent 33" copied Melinda and got bashed by the real one.
Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) were on an undercover, or they thought they were, until Tablot came into view to blow-up their identities. They were at the party and "Melinda" was gorgeous. She looks stunning in that silver sparkly dress. Going back to the party, the two did not go in a South Beach Party to have some good old fun -- beers, music, etc. They went there to get an ancient miracle painting with some alien writing same as the Obelisk. Unfortunately, after arriving to the safe vault to steal the item, they found an empty space. Talbot got the painting early in the morning.
It was later revealed that Chief Tablott was not the real one, but it's Sunil Bakshi (Simon Kassianides) who is working for Hydra under Dr. Whitehall's orders. The story got all jumbled as "Agent 33" impersonated "Melinda" and the real 'Melinda" was tied up upon knowing of the Tablot deceit.
Melinda later joined Coulson and he almost falls for the act, good thing Agent 33 got an important slip and it's all about the coffee. Coulson had his suspicion and to test his hypothesis, he asked the imposter "Melinda" for a coffee date and she agreed. Though we all know and he knows as well (good thing!), that the real "Melinda" despise coffee.
The real "Melinda" got out in time and come face to face with her impostor. The brawl began and we have seen Melinda beating her own face. The battle between the impostor and the real one was clearly the highlight of the story. It's quite predictable that the real one will survive, not really its want the viewers want, but mainly during the fight scene, each of them displays equal ability in defeating the opponent. Its like you are expecting Melinda to beat the crap out of her impersonator, but at the same time you're quite unsure if "Melinda" can really defeat her opponent -- uncertainty is clearly present in the scene, and this element is the very reason why you would like to stay attuned for the next scenes.
In between the scenes, Coulson was a little bit emotional, he asked Melinda a to kill him when the time comes -- when he was off the edge and uncontrollable. He asked Melinda to replace him once it happens. Melinda was off with the idea at first, but Coulson eventually persuades her to accept the deal and she did.
Finally, the two got hold of the painting and recognized that the writing was brand new, apparently they need to find out who is it.
As for the cliffhanger, Dr. Whitehall captured Raina and asked her to bring the Obelisk in 48 hours, otherwise, she will be facing the worst nightmares of her life in the hands of the mad doctor.
