Windows 8 vs. OS X Yosemite Operating System: Move Over the Machines
It is quite clear that OS X is the next big operating system for Macs and it is going to be around for quite some years before Apple starts working on another upgrade. On the other hand, Windows 8 isn't exactly the next big thing, but we still not known much about Windows 10 (coincidence of competition X vs. 10) and it is not scheduled for a release before late 2015. Therefore, the logical choice for people looking for a new computer will be between OS X and Windows 8.
Machines are obviously very important, but today intelligent users spend a lot of time researching on operating system brilliance too. In fact, according to surveys around 67% users think of OS as an important factor in purchasing desktops and laptops, of course the number is higher for smartphones and tablets.
Device Compatibility
Now starting with the compatibility, Windows has always had an upper hand with diverse rang compatibility. Windows 8 runs on innumerable brands, while OS X will be a little limited in its approach. The fact that it has been engineered just with iMacs in mind makes it exclusive.
Features
On the other hand, OS X Yosemite solves a brilliant problem that Windows 8 never could. It allows you to leave phone almost anywhere in the house and you can still get the texts and other important data on desktop. Of course, the restriction here is that it works just with the iPhones. Additionally, Spotlight makes search for files and other important data easier, which is a huge problem in Microsoft Windows 8 OS. Of course, Windows will be looking to solve it soon enough.
Price
The most important difference between these two operating systems is price. Windows 8 is apparently one of the most expensive operating systems available at little less than $100 and even its predecessor costs the same amount of money. However, Apple has made sure that the update is free, which is an amazing thing looking at the features you are getting on the operating system. Judging on these terms, Apple OS X Yosemite is a clear winner.
