Avengers 2 updates: The Hulk will be rendered more realistically, thanks to the Muse, a new motion capture performance system

Avengers 2 news: Fans can expect a more life-like and terrifying Hulk in Avengers 2: Age of Ultron, thanks to the latest state-of-the-art effects technology known as the Muse, a motion capture performance system invented by ILM.

In a statement, ILM president Lynwen Brennan said:

"Getting that personality is very important to Joss [Whedon], and it's very important that it's driven by Mark [Ruffalo]'s performance. We've developed a new capture system, which we call Muse, which really captures the actor's performance - it allows us to combine different takes as well. We're using it on Warcraft, and we furthered the development on Avengers."

The technology has also been used in the live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The Hulk has indeed come a long way from its humble beginnings, when the actor Lou Ferrigno wore shredded clothes for a menacing look.

Avengers 2: Age of Ultron release date has been set for May 1, 2015 in 2D and in IMAX 3D, just in time for the Labor Day weekend.

Aside from the Hulk, Avengers 2: Age of Ultron's all-star cast includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Chris Evans as Captain America, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

Aside from The Vision, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch will make an appearance in Avengers 2: Age of Ultron.

The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron creative team has reportedly considered the addition of Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Black Panther to the team. Whether they will make the final cut is everyone's guess.

Here's The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron plot, according to Screenrant.com:

"Earth's Mightiest must reunite and work with newcomers Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch to battle new antagonist Ultron, who receives an all-new origin story, while dealing with a new level of inner conflict amongst the team. Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch may not necessarily agree with The Avengers and Tony Stark may be responsible for the creation of the new villain."
